Tartan Army travels to the Faroes

So who’s off to the Faroes in June?

We’re thinking about going to the Faroes match in June. Our prime directive has been the France game in September (all booked up already), but if we can get off our a***s and sort it out we’re maybe heading over to the Faroes as well. The plan would be to hire a fishing boat. It’d be at least a two day trip each way (with a separate dinghy on-tow for Gav, so he doesn’t sink the boat/set it on fire/etc), but there would be no accommodation worries and we could take a few (2 or 3 hundred) cans with us to enjoy on the trip. All sounds good to me:)

Anyone else have similar plans??

Scotland friendly at Pittodrie in August?

There may be the possibility of a Scotland friendly at Pittodrie in August, or maybe in Edinburgh. From what I read there is talk about a match on around August 16 against a yet-to-be-decided opposition. This is probably a good thing for everyone in the north who always have to travel to Glasgow, but I’m sure they’ll be a few complaints from the central belt. Having travelled from London for the Georgia match, I don’t see a trip up to Aberdeen as much to moan about.

FIFA Rankings Update: Scotland 19th

Fifa have just released their latest rankings update. Unfortunately, Scotland have fallen 3 places to 19.

It seems the recent defeat in Italy has hurt the Scotland team’s listing. A 26 point drop has pushed us 3 spots lower. That, together with good recent form by Russia, Mexico and Turkey has sent Scotland in the wrong direction.

At the same time Italy have taken the number one position. The deafeat of Scotland was obviously enough to establish them as the world’s best. :)

Football or Desperate Houswives – a no-brainer?

Get a load of this! I was sent this in an email yesterday:

“I was in a pub (in Italy) showing the game and I was running late I got a beer and sat down just as the game was kicking off. Then Italy went 1 – 0 up and the guy behind the bar turned the game off and put desperate houswives on – WHAT THE F**K!!!!!!”

WTF indeed:(
