SFA opposing a British Olympic soccer team
I can harldy believe what I just read! The British Olympic Association are keen to field the abomination that would be a Great British team at the London 2012 Olympics. I am however glad to see that the SFA are not even entertaining this notion. They (and the Welsh FA) have refused to even discuss the matter.
On this matter I support the SFA 100%. Any movement towards a British team should be opposed with vigour. Despite assurances that this would be a one-off situation I don’t trust UEFA and FIFA enough for them not to use such a union as the perfect excuse to push for a permanent British team. As Craig Brown said this would be the “the thin edge of the wedge”.
