FIFA Rankings – Scotland rise and close in on England

Posted in Euro 2008, FIFA on October 24, 2007 by Tartan Army Soldier

I’ve just caught up with the new FIFA rankings, and it looks good. Scotland are up one place to 13. Having beaten Ukraine 3-1 at Hampden, Scotland are now in their highest position since FIFA published their rankings. Interestingly, this puts the Scotland team within two places of England. If Scotland beat Italy in the coming Euro 2008 match it’s not impossible that Scotland will pass the ‘Auld Enemy’. 🙂

Scotland v Italy – ticket sales update given by Scotland Supporters Club

Posted in Euro 2008 on October 24, 2007 by Tartan Army Soldier

I just received an email from the Scotland Supporters Club. And the news doesn’t look good for fans who aren’t members.

Between Debenture sales and applications by SSC members, approximately 35,000 tickets have been sold for the Scotland v Italy match already. And demand by SSC members for tickets remains high. It has therefore been decided that the remaining tickets are not going to put on sales to the public. Remaining tickets will be on sale to Supporter Club members, away fans, youth groups and media.

Sales of the remaining home tickets (to SSC members) will open at 9.00 am on Saturday November 3. The ticket hotline number is 08700 12 16 23. Tickets will be restricted to one per SSC member.

If I wasn’t a member of the Scotland Supporters Club I would be well p***ed off.
