Scotland victorious again, winning 1 – 0 over Denmark

Another friendly international. And another victory. As against the Czech Republic, the result was decided by a single goal, this time by Matt Ritchie.

Scotland rarely score early in the game. However, like the friendly in Prague, they didn’t waste any time getting the ball in the net. A moment of hesitation by Danish captain Dan Agger, was mercilessly seized upon by Ritchie, shooting the ball past keeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Scotland triumph in Czech friendly

Great result! Scotland have triumphed over the Czech Republic! Could this be a return to winning form for Scotland?

Well, let’s not get carried away. It was only a friendly, and 1 – 0 is not a score to jump too high about. That said, a win is a win, even by the slimmest of margins. And it was deserved. Ikechi Anya’s strike after 10 minutes put us ahead of the Czechs, but the consistent hard work of the Scotland squad kept the Czech team at bay for the remainder of the match. A win, by what can fairly be described as an experimental squad, is much to be be applauded. Now, let’s hope for more of the same on Tuesday, against the Danes.

Strachan names squad for Czech and Denmark friendlies
